ZTA Ceramic

ZTA Ceramic

Although ceramic materials have many superior characteristics, such as high temperature mechanical properties and chemical erosion resistance, they are also electrical insulators with high hardness and wear resistance. However, because of their structure, ceramic materials lack the force of plastic deformation caused by slippage in the state of stress like metals. This makes them easy to produce defects and cracks. Additionally, it leads to a high degree of stress concentration, determining the brittle nature of ceramic materials.

Advantages of ZTA ceramic:

ZTA ceramic has high corrosion resistance, good chemical stability. Alumina has high hardness and good toughness of zirconia. Together, the two materials form an excellent composite with high strength and toughness, which is more widely used. ZTA ceramic has higher flexural strength and fracture toughness at room temperature. Consequently, zirconia toughened alumina ceramic have good wear resistance.

The specific ratio of the two materials can be adjusted according to the actual use requirements of users. The performance of zirconia toughened alumina ceramics is better than that of 99 alumina ceramics. The price is much lower than that of zirconia ceramics. Many occasions where alumina ceramics are not competent, reflecting a better cost performance than zirconia ceramics. Widely used in machinery, electronics, petroleum, chemical, aerospace and textile industries.
