Polishing and Machining of Alumina Ceramics

Polishing Alumina Ceramics:
  1. Laser processing and ultrasonic processing are use for grinding and polishing.
  2. Use Al2O3 powder or diamond grinding paste for grinding and polishing.
  3. Need to use the method of glazing (suitable for products with high requirements for surface smoothness).
  4. Use diamond, silicon carbide, which are harder than alumina, to grind from coarse to fine.
  5. The surface of the material process by the ion implantation method. Ion implantation ceramics are a supplement to the existing toughening mechanism. They represent a deep processing of prepared ceramic products.

Alumina Ceramics

Machining:

  1. Due to the high hardness of alumina ceramics materials, harder grinding and polishing brick materials are necessary. Examples include silicon carbide, boron carbide, and diamond diamonds. Usually, the process uses coarse to fine abrasives for step by step grinding, followed by final surface polishing.
  2. Some alumina ceramic materials need finishing after sintering. Products used as artificial bones require a high surface finish, like a mirror, to increase lubricity.
  3. Alumina ceramics can generally be polished with Al203 micron, < 1μm micron, or diamond diamond paste. Laser processing and ultrasonic processing grinding and polishing methods can also be used.
With further progress in alumina ceramics processing technology, it has become a widely used ceramic. Its superior performance leads to extensive applications in modern society. These meet the needs of daily use and special properties. Welcome inquiry.
