Precision Zirconia Ceramic

Precision zirconia ceramic, also known as zro2 ceramic, is a new type of high-tech ceramics. This precision zirconia ceramic offers high strength, hardness, high temperature resistance, and acid and alkali corrosion resistance. Additionally, it has high chemical stability and other conditions. It also features scratch and wear resistance, excellent heat dissipation performance, and strong processability. This makes it suitable for mass production while maintaining a good appearance effect.

Features of precision zirconia ceramic:

1.High melting point

The melting point of zirconia is 2715 °C. The high melting point and chemical inertness make zirconia a better refractory material.

2.High hardness and good wear resistance

Zirconia ceramics have greater hardness and good wear resistance. From the specific data, zirconia ceramic Mohs hardness is about 8.5, very close to the Mohs hardness of sapphire 9. In contrast, polycarbonate has only 3.0 on the Mohs hardness, tempered glass has a Mohs hardness of 5.5, aluminum magnesium alloy has a Mohs hardness of 6.0. Additionally, Corning glass has a Mohs hardness of 7.

3.Strength and toughness are relatively large

Zirconia ceramics have greater strength (up to 1500MPa). Although the toughness and some metals have a large gap, compared with other ceramic materials, zirconia ceramics in the “ceramic circle” is considered the best (1-35MPa.m1/2).
