Ceramic Bearing

Ceramic bearing can be divided into: zirconia belt retainer bearings, silicon nitride belt retainer bearings, composite belt retainer bearings.

Ceramic Bearing

The retainer material is polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) as the standard configuration. Glass fiber reinforced nylon 66 (GRPA66-25), special engineering plastics (PEEK, PI), stainless steel (SUS316, SUS304).

Is it better or metal bearings?

  1. The fatigue life can be 10-50 times longer than that of all-steel bearings. Additionally, the life of hybrid bearings will be about 3-5 times higher than that of all-steel bearings. In terms of service life, they are much higher than metal bearings.
  2. The friction coefficient of ceramic bearings is low. Thus, the lubrication capacity of oil-lubricated is still not lower than that of traditional lubricants commonly used in steel. This is true even when the lubricating oil becomes thin or lacking.
  3. The elastic modulus of ceramic materials is high, and their rigidity is 15-20% greater than that of ordinary steel.
  4. Compared with metal bearings, ceramic bearings are more resistant to corrosion and wear. Because their own materials are different, the corrosion resistance and wear resistance of ceramic bearings are better than those of metal bearings.
Application of ceramic bearing:

Medical equipment, cryogenic engineering, optical instruments, high-speed machine tools, high-speed motors, printing machinery, food processing machinery.
In aerospace, navigation, nuclear industry, petroleum, chemical, textile industry, machinery, metallurgy, electric power, food, locomotive, subway, high-speed machine tools and scientific research defense military technology and other fields need to work under high temperature, high speed, cryogenic, flammable, explosive, strong corrosion, vacuum, electrical insulation, non-magnetic, dry friction and other special working conditions, the indispensable alternative role of ceramic bearings is gradually being recognized.
